Training

While FEDS is designed to be easy to use, some training and guidance can be beneficial. The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) offers training on the FEDS software from time to time. Check this page or the FEMP Training website for upcoming opportunities.

Individual agencies may also contract directly with Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for a variety of FEDS training options to meet your needs.  This can include short webinars to detailed hands-on auditing and analysis workshops.  If interested, please contact FEDS Support.

A number of training options are available, from the traditional one-day introductory and two-day advanced courses, to a variety of custom options.

Introduction to FEDS

Explore the features and capabilities of FEDS and learn how to use the software in the Introduction to FEDS workshop. Discussions and hands-on exercises are combined to develop an understanding of the software, how to input data, modify parameters, and run FEDS to analyze savings opportunities.

Advanced FEDS*

Using specific facility information (a list of required information will be provided upon registration),  instructors will help 1) prepare a tailored FEDS case, 2) run FEDS on the case, 3) study FEDS results, and 4) identify potential projects. (Given the hands-on nature of this course, class size is limited. Sign up early!)

*Prerequisite: Introduction to FEDS or familiarity with FEDS software

Custom Training Options

Additional training options are available and can be tailored to suit specific needs. These can range from a variety of remote webinar sessions to on-site hands-on training focused on practical aspects of building auditing and FEDS analysis. Please contact FEDS Support to inquire about options.
